Saturday, October 21: “Live like the Resurrection Is Real”
1 Corinthians 15: 16, 17: “For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.”
What is the biggest benefit of our Christian faith? The tenet that it delivers us from our sins, a claim no other religion dares to make. But if it is brought about by Christ’s resurrection, and we deny that resurrection, we are still in sin; our ‘faith’ is a collection of lofty sayings and empty promises, nothing more. Sin still dominates us. Conversely, if Christ is risen from the dead, we are no longer defined by sin. Is that resurrection real in us?
