September 6, 2021: DAILY DOSE OF DISCERNMENT

I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)

Paul wrote Philippians from prison, the conditions in which at that time were not the most humane. And he was jailed for preaching the gospel, a gross injustice. It was so easy to lose hope. Yet he was not shaken. He continued to trust in the Savior who appeared to him on the road to Damascus. It must have been a really life-changing encounter for it to have produced this steadfast faith in him.

Whatever you’re facing at the moment, whether it’s because of your fault or another’s, understand that God is at work in you and He’s not done with what He started. He began with something good and He will finish with something better, because He is good all the time and His word never returns to Him without accomplishing the purpose for which He sent it.
