Psalm 82: 5: “They do not know nor do they understand; they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.” The prophet says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4: 6) What ignorance, what lack of understanding, causes this darkness and shaking of our life’s foundations? Simple—not having the knowledge that the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. When you know that, all your trials and tribulations won’t pull you down because you know, as the old spiritual hymn says, that they will soon be over.
