Sunday, December 29: “Christmas Proclaims: The World Is in God’s Hands!”

Psalm 93: 1b; Psalm 96: 10b: “Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.”

Every so often Hollywood or Netflix produces a dystopian epic about the hyperdramatic end of the world, and coincidentally (or not) scientific “proof” suddenly surfaces which backs up the cinematic premise. Remember “2012”? Well, we can ignore the obvious orchestration of the whole scenario and buy into it, or we can believe God. The psalmists proclaim, and Christmas proves: God has a passionate interest in planet Earth; past, present, and future, and it isn’t going anywhere on His watch—which is a very, very, long watch.
