Thursday, August 22: “Pit Stop for Mercy”

Acts 8: 30, 31: “Philip ran up and heard [the eunuch] reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, ‘Do you understand what you are reading?’ And he said, ‘Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?’ And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.”

Do you ever relate to this eunuch, wanting to understand God’s Word, but feeling as if you need an interpreter? Well, the same God Who provided him with one of the original seven deacons as a guide to spiritual things, along with water in the desert for His baptism (vv. 26, 36-38), has provided you with the Holy Spirit as teacher and guide, and the Church to accompany you on your path. His mercy is abounding to you, working to bring you from glory to glory!
