Thursday, January 16: “Living Water”

Isaiah 41: 17: “The afflicted and needy are seeking water, but there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst; I the Lord, will answer them Myself, as the God of Israel I will not forsake them.”

This is a message Isaiah has given before (Isaiah 35: 25) and will give again, repeatedly (v. 18; 43: 19, 20; 44: 3; 49: 10; 55: 1; et. al.): God will bring forth rivers in the desert, and the thirsty will drink. And, like so many of Isaiah’s prophecies, it is fulfilled in Jesus Christ, Who brings living water to all who ask of Him (John 4: 10-14). Drink and be satisfied!
