Thursday, January 25: “God Intentions V”

Genesis 17: 4: “As for Me, behold, My Covenant is with you, and you will be the father of a multitude of nations.”

At the age of seventy-five, Abram had received the promise that he would become a great nation. Later, he was promised that his descendants would be as many as the stars. At the age of eighty-six he sired a son–but none of these were the fulfillment of all the Lord had for him. Only at the age of ninety-nine was the complete promise received–the father of a multitude of nations. And within a year, the beginnings of its fulfillment arrived as Sarah gave birth to Isaac. But all the while God’s hand was on His friend, just as it is on you, until He brings you to the fullness of His promise.
