Thursday, September 19: “What Do You Seek?”

Job 28: 27, 28: “Then [God] saw [wisdom] and declared it; He established it and also searched it out. And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.’”

In the early verses of this chapter Job describes how man focuses on and seeks for treasures like silver, gold, iron, copper, and gemstones, going to great lengths to discover and acquire them. But of far more value is wisdom and its ultimate end, peace with God. This is a great passage, though out of sequence, to cap the reading of this thought-provoking book!
