Thursday, September 21: “Temptation of Hurry”
1 Corinthians 3: 1: “For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Christ Jesus.”
Indeed, there can be no foundation laid other than Jesus, and Isaiah says that the one who believes in this tried foundation stone will not be “in a hurry” (Isaiah 28: 16). God has made everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3: 11), yet the temptation is to get ahead of God and do things in our time. Everything from our marriage to Christ’s Second Coming has a time set in the heavens, and we must learn when to rest in Him and not insist that He advance the timetable.
