“God Intentions XXIV”

John 18: 36: “Jesus answered, ‘My Kingdom is not of this world. If My Kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.” 

Upon reading Jesus’ words to Pilate, it becomes difficult to condone some of the actions the nations have done throughout the centuries in the name of God, or to understand the Church’s justification of those actions. The way of ‘this realm’ is through violence, the Kingdom way is by prayer; the way of ‘this realm’ is by force, the Kingdom way is in love. The Church has a multitude of actions, past and present, to confess; it’s a good thing Ash Wednesday is tomorrow.
