Tuesday, July 11: “Difficult Obedience”
Luke 23: 56b: “On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.”
After everything they had been through, after everything they had seen, rest was probably the last thing on the women of Galilee’s minds. Their emotions and thoughts were screaming–What can we do? How can we fix this? Isn’t there some action that can take–like right now? But the fourth commandment still stood, with no provisions for exemptions in cases like this. So the women rested. And they received the blessings the very next day.
