Tuesday, June 4: “Continual Anamnesis”

Psalm 48: 9: “We have thought on Your lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of Your temple.“

As Jesus said during the Last Supper, “Do this for the remembrance of Me.” Indeed, the Eucharist is a remembering of all Christ did, and more–an anamnesis, a recollection of Christ’s sacrifice and the making that sacrifice and its effects present; thus a simultaneous sharing and participation in those benefits–all in the temple we call the Church.
