Tuesday, March 5: “More Important Than Yourselves III”

Genesis 45: 7, 8a: “God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant in the earth, and to keep you alive by a great deliverance. Now therefore, it was not you who sent me here, but God.”

When Joseph was in Canaan he lorded it over his brothers, flaunting the favor of his father and his standing among them. Then thirteen years of slavery taught him what true leadership was, and suddenly he realized that those years of suffering were not for his sake, but for that of his family and the people God was building. They, and the future of the Kingdom, was more important than his liberty.
