Romans 4: 14:“For if those who are of the Law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise is nullified.” The Law had nothing to do with free will. It was thrust upon the Jews, whether they liked it or not; while any Gentile who wanted to enter such a realm was denied that inheritance. Abraham, who came centuries before the Law, chose of his own free will to believe the Lord and follow Him in obedience. This using of free will to believe and follow the Lord has a name: It’s called faith, and it allows anyone to share in the inheritance Abraham received.
