Tuesday, November 14: “True Light Awakens”
Nehemiah 9: 32, 33: “Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, Who keeps covenant and lovingkindness, do not let all the hardship seem insignificant before You, which has come upon us from the days of the kings of Assyria to this day. However, You are just in all that has come upon us; for You have dealt faithfully, but we have acted wickedly.”
Seven days of hearing God’s Word (Nehemiah 8: 18) had its effect on the returning exiles; those who had rebuilt Jerusalem’s walls, but had yet to rebuild an understanding of Jehovah’s ways. Then as now, His True Light convicts and leads to repentance (2 Corinthians 7: 10).
