Wednesday, December 25: “Restoration of Judgement”
Psalm 110: 6: “He will judge among the nations, He will fill them with corpses, He will shatter the chief men over a broad country.”
Along with the second psalm, this work of David is often deemed incongruous with the Christmas story. But the apostles and Church fathers beg to differ, for the Christ came to wield authority; not just on earth, but in the heavens. Scripture tells us, in passages both figurative (Isaiah 14: 10-19; Ezekiel 28: 11-19) and literal (2 Peter 2: 4; Jude v. 6), that certain celestial beings rebelled and fell from the state of God’s glory and grace (thus debunking the myth that they have no free will). While Christ has mercy on all mankind, He brings long-awaited and much-deserved judgement on these rebels of heaven. Merry Christmas, Lucifer!
