Wednesday, January 8: “The Voice for Eternity”
Isaiah 59: 21: “‘As for Me, this is My covenant with them,’ says the Lord: ‘My Spirit Which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,’ says the Lord, ‘from now and forever.’”
The vile verbiage from the dragon’s mouth seems to threaten the existence of righteousness itself (Revelation 12: 15, 16). But God’s covenant with man promises something far more sure. As Isaiah promised earlier in his book, “The word of our God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40: 8) Conversely, the words of man, no matter how clever or enticing they may seem, are mere grass or flowers—here today, gone tomorrow.
