Psalm 119: 59: “I considered my ways and turned my feet to your testimonies.”

The song penned by Paul Anka and sung by Frank and Elvis and every karaoke hound on earth makes doing things “My Way” sound like the most admirable thing a man could possibly do. But when the music fades, we’re faced with a Bible that repeatedly proclaims the opposite. That’s probably why Andre Crouch, intending to write a song called “I Did It God’s Way”, was persuaded by his music producer to instead call it “My Tribute”, aka “To God Be the Glory”. (Note the musical similarity of the first eight bars.) God’s way, God’s glory.
