John 8: 12: “Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world; he who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.’” If darkness is caused by the misuse of free will, light is brought about by its proper use. The ultimate example of this is the Lord Jesus Christ; Who taught His disciples to pray to the Father “Your will be done”, and prayed the same in Gethsemane when the Father’s will conflicted mightily with the human side of His own dual nature. When we steadfastly behold that shining face that the psalmist saw, we too are transformed by it and follow that light, as our own wills are conformed to His. (2 Corinthians 3: 18)
