Wednesday, May31: “Crusin’ thru 2 Cor, Part III”

2 Corinthians 2: 10, 11: “But one whom you forgive anything, I forgive also; for indeed what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, I did it for your sakes in the presence of Christ, so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.” Satan loves to portray Himself as a mastermind, cleverly scheming his way to victory in the epic struggle for the Kingdom. Well, as Jesus said (John 8: 44), he is a liar, and the father of lies. There is no epic struggle (he’s already been defeated), and he’s no mastermind (the cross proved that, 1 Corinthians 2: 8). In the case of Corinth his scheme was to convince them not to forgive the member who had been sinning before (1 Corinthians 5), but we all know better than that, don’t we? Of course we do, we’re not ignorant..
