Wednesday, November 20: “Applied Doubt”
James 4: 6b, 10: “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble ... Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.”
Doubt is not wrong; it is sometimes necessary. Without it we would believe the words of every scheming scammer, the promises of every selfishly ambitious politician, and the lies of every false prophet. However, when extended toward God, doubt becomes an act of prideful self-exaltation, while faith in Him is an act of humility. Think about that!
