“Where’d That Come From?”

John 8: 11: She said, ‘No one, Lord. And Jesus said, ‘Neither do I condemn you; go your way. From now on sin no more.’” After chapters from St. Luke about Jesus’ conflict with His detractors and a future dystopia, and just before the story of Judas’ betrayal, the creators of the MDR uncharacteristically slip in this account from St. John. Why? To further illustrate the antagonism of the scribes and Pharisees toward Jesus? Or to show His continuing mercy and compassion in the midst of it all? I don’t know about you, but I choose Option B.
