WEDNESDAY MIDWEEK FELLOWSHIP

WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP
Bp. Ariel Santos
Advent teaches us to wait in anticipation. The kind of preparation that we make depends on who is coming. Is it someone that we are afraid of? If we prepare because of fear, then, it is superficial. If we are waiting for someone we love and kind, our preparation is different. I would like to remind us that He who is coming is Somebody who loves us. He who is coming is the Man who was crucified for us. If He gave His life for us even when we were His enemies, we should not fear His coming.

God is doing great things in our midst. Greater things yet are to come because God’s kingdom is ever increasing. He has chosen gladly to give us the kingdom of God, and this is the way it is in the kingdom of our God.

WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
God is good all the time! It is something that we miss many times, not because we don’t hear it, but because we don’t pay attention to it. There are so many voices and many things that happen all around the world that we live in. There are so many noises that are strange, and because of this, our attention, many times, is out of focus. We do not realize that there is the One and only One that we need to fix our eyes and our attention on. This is Jesus Christ the Author and the Perfector of our faith. Faith is so important because it is faith that will make us overcome the situations that we face each day.

WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP
Bp. Ariel P. Santos
God has granted us everything pertaining to life and godliness. This is His initiative; this is His nature. He blesses and ever blesses. He can’t help being a blessing because it is His nature. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing from the heavens, and He has given us the Kingdom gladly. He has equipped that Kingdom with everything that we would need to flourish, to equip, to bear fruit and to produce. God gave His all; what more could He do? He withheld nothing; He gave His one hundred percent, and this is why He could command us to do the same.

We have a great God! We have a faithful God! But sometimes, we forget this when trials and problems come. Our faith is tested and we forget God’s promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is always there. In the poem “Footprints in the Sand”, in the beginning, there were two sets of footprints; but when the man encountered storms in his life, he noticed that there was just one set of footprints. He asked the Lord why He left him when he needed Him most. The Lord said, “I did not leave you nor forsake you. During the times of your trial and suffering when you only saw one set of footprint, that was the time that I carried you.”

WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
As God’s people, we really have not tapped in to what is available to us. The Spirit of God is willing to move and to do great exploits and great works as great, and even greater than the works that we have read in the Word of God. There was a metal axe that just floated; two men were able to subdue a great army of Arameans that surrounded them because there were chariots of fire. There was leper that was healed in the Jordan River when there were better rivers in Syria. These are not just stories to read as history, but they are contemporary events happening right now in our lives.

WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
Many times, we have failed to realize the social responsibility that we have as the people of God to be relevant to the needs of the people. We can just have apathy and a lack of concern, and yet there are people hurting and suffering. We must constantly have that desire to let the gospel of Christ be seen and heard.

WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP
Bp. Ariel Santos
Have you ever seen a body of water that reflects the bigness of our God? Have you ever been on a mountain top seeing the valley from down on it and seeing God’s creation before your eyes? Have you ever been to an aquarium and seen fish of different kinds and appreciate God’s creativity in their variety and their beauty? Have you ever looked at plants, trees or flowers and appreciate God’s handiwork in them? On a clear night, have you ever looked up to the sky and appreciate the enormity of space? Have you ever wondered how God created all of the heavens and the earth?

If you have been following the readings in the Daily Office of Prayer, this morning’s Old Testament reading is all about King Solomon. He is being used by God to be a witness to the world, particularly for Queen Sheba, who came from a far country and heard about Solomon. This should be like the Church, who should be the joy of all the earth, and being heard of making and spreading the good news of God’s love to all. Solomon was used by God as an instrument of displaying His wisdom. Solomon prayed not for riches, not for conquering nations, but for wisdom. He was setting His mind on God’s interests.

WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
It is a great evening as God’s people are gathered, and I pray that we are just as excited as God is to be able to reveal Himself in even a greater way. But He only reveals Himself to those who are hungry. Are you hungry? Are you thirsty? In a dry and weary land, where there seems to be no water, will our hearts say, “My heart will praise You. My lips will bless You so I will praise You as long as I live. I will lift up my hands in Your place.” We need this so that we can see a transformation in our lives.

WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
I don’t think that we barely scratched the surface of understanding the love of God. Scriptures says that the earth is filled with the loving-kindness of the Lord. Oftentimes, we see tragedy, criminality, man’s deception, suspicion, lying, theft, and adultery, and we are more sensitive to these things rather than to see that inspite of all these, the earth is still filled with the knowledge, the wisdom, and the love of the Lord.

WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP
Bishop Ariel Cornelio P. Santos
You are witnesses of these things. Jesus said, “Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sin will be proclaimed in His Name to all the nations.” We are witnesses of God’s love, expressed in the death and the resurrection of Jesus for us, and this delivers us from sin and death. Because of this, we are free; we are no longer slaves to sin or death because we are children of God purchased by Jesus’ love.

WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP
Fr. Roberto M. Jorvina
God is good all the time! This is a truth that we should never ever forget because the goodness and the love of God is what should fill our hearts and our minds. It is a love that we cannot comprehend with our human understanding. It takes the Holy Spirit Who has poured His presence in our hearts, Who has poured out the love of God in our hearts that helps us understand and realize this.

WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP
Bp. Ariel Santos
You are witnesses! Our mission as a Church is to know God and to make Him known. In the words of Jesus, doing this is eternal life. In Matthew 11:16-19; 25-30, Jesus connects knowing God and having life in Him to be taking His yoke. No one knows the Father except the Son, and whoever wills to reveal Him to the Father. He connects this to taking His yoke and having eternal life.

Jesus said, “You are witnesses of these things.” We are witnesses of God’s forgiveness, His love, and His mercy. We need to know what we are witnesses of.
When a woman is pregnant, she is eating not just for herself, but she is sustaining two lives. We must understand this in order to give to whoever we are witnessing to, and wherever we are witnessing. We need to feed ourselves more than what is just enough for us. The principle of God’s blessing is that He blesses us with more than what we need for us to be a blessing. We need to eat not only for ourselves, but for others also.

Luke 24:45-48 says, “Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, ‘Thus it is written, that Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead on the third day, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.’”

There is such a powerful force that is released when the people of God praise Him, if only we see this in the spiritual realm. If only we can see once we lift up our hands, the demons tremble and ran away. Once we utter a voice of praise to God, sickness has to flee. Once we allow the high praises of the Lord to be in our lips, it is like a two edged sword in our hand.

Who among you have been in Jerusalem 2000 years ago and saw Jesus die on the cross and resurrect? So what are we witnesses of? I looked up the word “witness” at the internet and I found two verses that said, “We are witnesses not of the physical, literal resurrection of Jesus.” In Luke 24, Jesus said to His disciples, “Thus it is written that Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead on the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His Name to all generations beginning from Jerusalem; and you are witnesses of these things.”

We celebrated Pentecost Sunday and Pentecost means: God pouring His spirit upon all flesh. Recognize that the spirit of God is in each one of us. The life of Christ is in each of us, which means that God is working in us.

"Body-Building Love" - Part 5
We come to our fifth session of Body-building Love. Hopefully, we now have a deeper and clearer understanding of what Love is really all about. As we come to the conclusion of Lent, preparing for Holy Week and Easter, the lessons should serve as a timely message to transform our lives from where we were 40 days ago to where God is taking us.

"Body-Building Love" - Part 4
Fr. Gary Thurman
In the three previous sessions of this series we have learned about certain aspects of divine love: joy, peace, patience, kindness, and self-control. In tonight’s fourth session we take some time to examine gentleness. This, too, is an aspect of love which does not really fit very much into modern society’s understanding of love. The more popular concept today is that of “tough love.” This is usually just an excuse we use when we do not wish to demonstrate the compassion of Christ, or have lost it from our lives. Rarely anymore does anyone dwell on the gentleness of love. But tonight, we do.

"Body-Building Love" - Part 3
Fr. Dino M. Jorvina
I believe in my heart that God is going to use you to minister to families. We are a social being and we have associates in business. We have classmates, and we have community friends. God is going to use your words to minister life and for situations in families. I believe that the healing power of Christ will so transcend the lives and the situations. It is regardless of how bad the situation in families may be. We know that God is able to heal! God is able to save us and we just trust Him!

"Boby-Building Love"
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
Great things are happening in the world of Christianity. For five young people to come up in front especially at this time and day, it is not an easy thing. It has to be God drawing them.
Many of us become timid when it comes to our faith, and I challenge each of us that once we become what the Bible calls the uncompromisingly righteous people of God, once we become the people God wants us to become, things will happen and we will see things that we have never seen before. I pray that for these five people that we prayed for tonight, there will truly be a heavenly visitation in their hearts that will confirm the Word of God with signs following their lives. I wouldn’t be surprised seeing them doing great exploits in the kingdom of God.

Bp. Ariel Santos
In the gospel reading in Matthew 5:43-47, The Message Translation says, “You’re familiar with the old written law, ‘Love your friend,’ and its unwritten companion, ‘Hate your enemy.’ I’m challenging that. I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves.” When somebody gives you a hard time or persecutes you, respond with the energies of prayer. This is your true self. I have defined hypocrisy, and being your true self, it is “If you don’t pray for your enemies and bless them, you will be a hypocrite.” If you respond with the energies of prayer and bless and love your enemies, then, you would be working out of your true selves and your God-created selves.

"New Jar"
Fr. Gary Thurman
Last Wednesday night as well as this past Sunday, Fr. Obet shared with us the powerful story of how the prophet Elisha healed the bitter waters of a certain city by throwing salt in the springs. The story illustrated the power of salt to make things around it better, which is why Jesus used it as a symbol of our lives when He called us the salt of the earth. (Matthew 5: 13) As I heard this story four times and meditated on it, I felt the Lord stirring in my spirit a further message from this story for us His people.

"Being Built Up"
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
We gather for a purpose, for a reason. We are here not just to bid up time and space, but it is a divine appointment that we are fulfilling. We must constantly be conscious of this rather than living and going through life oblivious of what is taking place as far as our relationship with God is concerned. Many people today are like spiritual zombies without a grasp of what God is doing.

“Reflection and Meditation”
Dcn. Garry Salguero
Last Wednesday, we talked about expressing our praise and worship. Tonight, I will share on reflection and meditation believing that we should also develop a culture that knows how to reflect and meditate to what God has given and told us.

EXPRESSION
Fr. Dino Jorvina
One of the things that our Church leadership wants to build in us is a culture of the Word of God, a culture of praise and worship, a culture whereby we become the people of God who are sensitive to the voice of God, to the leadings of the Spirit that we are quick to respond to the things that God wants us to do.

All life is sacred. This is the message of the Feast of The Lord, the Giver of Life. Do you know why all life is sacred? Because all life comes from God, and if it comes from God, it is sacred. Even more than that, all life is sacred not just because it comes from God, but because it is loved by God. Because all life comes from God, and if it comes from God, it is sacred. Even more than that, all life is sacred not just because it comes from God, but because it is loved by God.

“Building Up of Itself in Love”
Bp. Ariel Santos
This early in the year, I would like us to be reminded of our direction and theme for the year: Building Up Itself in Love. This phrase comes from Ephesians 4:11 – 16, “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the grown of the body for the building up of itself in love.”

HUMILITY
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
It is so refreshing and invigorating to be in the presence of the people of God inspite of the fact that the past days were very challenging and quite tiring. Some of you perhaps have travelled; some have stayed at home, but have been busy with parties and preparing things. It is so easy to miss on the true essence of why we are doing all of what we are doing. It is so easy to fall prey into what the prophet Isaiah said in the very beginning of his prophesy in Isaiah 1:2-3 when he said, “Listen, O heavens, and hear O earth; For the Lord speaks, ‘Sons I have reared and brought up but they have revolted against Me. An ox knows its owner, and a donkey its master’s manger, but Israel does not know and My people do not understand.”

LOVE
Dcn. Garry Salguero
1Corinthians 13:13 says, “But now abide faith, hope and love; but the greatest of these is love.” In this passage, St. Paul is encouraging, rebuking, and correcting Corinth because of their attitude in the many problems that they were facing. It is just like us, the Cathedral. We have been tested for years –up and down; left and right; front and back; inwards and outwards; and from within. The problem of Corinth is that the people inside the Church were divided. Some were saying, “I am of Apollos; I am of Paul; I am of Peter; I am of Jesus.” For some of the people in Corinth, some have lost their faith, some have lost their hope, and some have lost their love for the Church.

HOPE
Dcn. Ben Sevial
In Proverbs 3:1-12, it says, “My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments. For length of days and years of life and peace, they will add to you. Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favour and good repute in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones. Honor the Lord from our wealth and from the first of all your produce; so your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine. My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord or loathe His reproof, for whom the Lord loves He reproves, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.”

Faith is one of the most powerful and most important components of our Christian walk with God. Faith is one of the preparations before the great event would come. Could you imagine the power in what Jesus said, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Be moved into the sea,’ and if you will not doubt that what you say is going to happen, it will happen.” Can you imagine yourself speaking to the mountain and see it slowly move into the sea?

Jesus is here! Did Jesus say, “If two or three holy and sinless people gather in My Name, I will be there in their midst?” Did He say, “If two or three Bible scholars gather in My Name, I will be there in their midst?” Did He say, “If two or three sincere people, proven that their motive is right, that they really gather in My Name, there I will be in their midst?” What did Jesus say, “If two or three gather in My Name, I will be in their midst. With pure or impure motive gather in My Name and they seek for My presence, I will be there.” We don’t have to do what the prophets of Baal did in calling their god.

On behalf of Bishop Ricardo Alcaraz, the legate of the Primate, and the Diocese of Visayas, I stand here before, you excited and at the same time afraid for myself because my emotion is going wild. This is my first time to stand in this pulpit at the Cathedral of the King, although I have been in Christian Life Fellowship since 1979. I have been married for 35 years with five children and four grandchildren. Before I came to the Lord, I already had a daughter that my parents adopted. She has nine children and I have nine grandchildren from her, but three of them have passed away and she is now a widow in Bacolod.

God is a good God! When we gather together, we believe that God is present. Exodus 25:8 says, “The Lord dwells in His sanctuary.” The Lord is here! The Lord is present! His presence makes the difference. If we go outside, there is chaos and traffic amongst others. When God is here, we should be prepared to listen to Him. We should set in our hearts tonight that we will listen to what God will say to us for nothing happens by accident.

I spend a lot of time reading billboards and T-shirts. I am a person who likes to read, but unfortunately, I don’t read too many books except for the Bible. I have never found a book that is half interesting and half as uplifting and profitable as the Bible. If somebody took the trouble to make the T-shirt and print the billboard, and if somebody took the trouble to put on the T-shirt that day, it is meant to be read, right? I always read every T-shirt that walks by me every day. I always read every billboard that I see when I am commuting around.

God is moving so tremendously and I trust that you are capturing the great things that God is doing in our midst as a Church. I would like to share a very basic thing about commitment to Christ. All of us will be participating here and hopefully learn about a basic principle in our lives. Open your hearts, open your Bibles, and hopefully just capture the leading of the Lord in our lives.

One of the things we learned last week was from John 6:63 which says, “What gives life is God’s spirit; human power is of no use at all. The words I have spoken to you bring God’s life-giving spirit.” We also talked about prayer, which is the backbone of the ministry, that without it our ministry would just collapse and that our prayers will make us steadfast. We also learned that our spiritual growth must be consistent.

This morning, we experienced an earthquake and I was on the twelfth floor of our office building. I asked the trainees to vacate the room for any aftershocks. When they came back, I encouraged and read to them Hebrews 12:26-27, “And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.’ This expression, ‘Yet once more,’ denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain…let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe.”

I trust that when we come here, we never bring our encumbrances to the Lord. Our tests and trials, even the problems that we are facing right now, are to be set aside so that we could focus our minds and hearts to God and God alone.

Dcn. Ruben Sevial
I would want to ask each one of us these questions: “What is your purpose of being here? Are you proud of being a Christian? Are you proud of Jesus Christ?” Sometimes, we don’t know our purpose in life. When somebody would ask us about this, our answer is, “Okay lang. Masaya. Bahala na. Wala lang.” Our life is blessed because we should be a blessing.

We are going to talk about important points about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. One is: Christ was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians is the longest epistle in the New Testament and chapter 15 is the longest chapter of any New Testament epistle. This is called the Resurrection Chapter. St. Paul was telling the church that Christ’s resurrection paved the way for the believer’s resurrection or our own resurrection. He spent much time on this topic because the Corinthians had come to believe in life after death without bodily resurrection. They did not believe in the resurrection of the body, but simply in the resurrection of spirit (1 Corinthians 15:12). Some of the Corinthians flatly denied the resurrection of the dead. From Paul’s point of view, to deny the believer’s resurrection denies the resurrection of Christ; to deny Christ’s resurrection denies the divinity of Christ.

"OF FIRST IMPORTANCE" PART 1
Dcn. Garry Salguero
St. Paul is sharing in this Scriptures the priority in his ministry. This was reported to him and he was evangelized and then he evangelized the people in Corinth. During that time, there were many misconceptions and rumors to discredit the death and the burial of Jesus Christ. If we discredit the death of Christ, we discredit His resurrection and godliness.

God has a plan for Cathedral of the King. He isn’t finished with us; there is still a divine purpose and calling on this Church. Anyone who desires can be a part, for we all share in this calling; and if you don’t feel able, prepared, or qualified, don’t worry. God has been preparing us for quite some time now. Specifically, for the first six months of the year and more, the focus of our Wednesday night teachings was prayer. Since then we have had several sessions on intimacy with God, then two sessions on “Who is God?” Tonight is our second session on “Who is Jesus?” There is a reason for all this.

The world is full of people who believe in Jesus. Muslims believe in Jesus; He is mentioned in the Koran. A lot of people go to Church and talk about Jesus and worship Him. They believe in Jesus without believing that He is fully God. Some would say that He is the highest of God’s created beings and there are different explanations. There is a fairly large group of people that if you would push them in the corner, they call themselves Christians and say, “Yes, I believe in Jesus,” and they would even claim the love of Jesus; but they would reject the fact that Jesus is God.

Who is God? The sad statement in John 7 says that Jesus’ own brothers did not believe in Him. Jesus said, “The Prophet is not without honor except in His own country because His own neighbors did not believe and accept Him.” Jesus’ own brothers did not believe in Him, and yet His brothers went to the Feast of Booth (the Feast of Tabernacle) in Jerusalem. This Feast was one of the three Feasts on which the males of Israel went to Jerusalem. (The other Feasts were the Feast of Passover and the Feast of Pentecost.)

In John 17:3, what is knowing God equated to? “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” How do we know someone? Is there a difference between knowing someone, knowing about someone, and knowing of someone? We cannot base our knowledge of someone on what we hear and read about someone.

Fr. Roberto Jorvina
The topic, “Intimacy with God,” is supposed to challenge our hearts and to speak to our hearts. It is to stir up our inner man, to long for, to truly crave for and to awaken the true desires in our hearts. Many times, we are so caught up with the world that we do not realize how much we are dancing according to the beat and rhythm of the world.
August 02, 2016
Fr. Roberto M. Jorvina
The message of intimacy with God is very important in this day and time. We are doing our best, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to try to plant this desire in us, to constantly push us to this very, very important aspect of our Christianity. It is the foundation of all our lives.

Our presence here tonight is a divine calling. Some of us have braved the traffic; some of us have set aside schedules; some of us invested some amount of money that we can be here. It is God who causes us to be here.

WEDNESDAY MIDWEEK FELLOWSHIP
Fr. Gary Thurman
Last week, Bishop Ariel shared on preparation – getting prepared on what the Lord is about to do; His imminent move. One of the things that he said was, “One way to prepare is to simply continue what you are doing. Continue serving and ministering to the Lord.” The verse that he quoted was: “Occupy until I come,” which is in the King James Version, in the Parable of the Minas where the servants were given different amounts. After the king gave the minas, he told them, “Occupy until I come.” In modern translations, it says, “Do business with these minas until I come.” This helps us better understand: what business? It is Kingdom business; God’s business. In other words: serve the Lord; do business until He comes.

Bp. Ariel Santos
I really believe that God has something great in store for us. Prepare! I saw this picture on the internet about a man on the street with a placard saying, “Prepare, the beginning is near.” I want us to prepare because the beginning of something great is near. It is the beginning of birth pangs, which is good. It is the beginning of a new anticipated birth. Birth is a beginning; it is not the end. We wait in joyful expectation for that which is not the end, but the beginning of something good.

Bishop Ariel Santos: There are people who have a gift of being visionaries. They can see something that doesn't exist yet and instead of seeing the present situation, they see the potentials. When we were at the Sheridan and Oritgas buildings, did we know what they looked like before? When we moved there, we did not have air-conditioning. We did not have the walls, the ceilings, and the place was dirty. We had a lot of work done.
June 28, 2016
Fr. Gary Thurman
Last Sunday Bishop Ariel shared with us a powerful passage: “You do not know what spirit you are of.” Tonight, I want to take this same thought and direct it to another area. Not only do we in the CEC not always understand the spirit of the Communion which God has given us, we do not understand the Spirit which God has given the Church. We do not understand our approach, our attitude, our paradigm, toward everything we do and face. The Spirit which God has caused to dwell within us is aptly spoken in Galatians 6: 1: “You who are spiritual, restore.” This is the sum of God’s agenda, and the gist of our calling. Whenever we encounter the fallen, our immediate mission is to restore.
June 21, 2016
We would like to invite you to a Priest Discussion, like a typical Priests meeting that we have in the Church. Maybe, you have never attended a meeting where priests are gathered together with the Bishop; and you would think that we just talk about the finances of the Church and other things. Many of you don’t realize that we talk about the things of God, and what the things of God mean to you as the flock.

I will be sharing tonight past incidents in my life, experiences which today is called “throwback.” It would tell of God's greatness and faithfulness in one's life; and every day as we journey with Him, His presence unfolds before us.

The Lord is here because He promised that when two or three are gathered together in His Name, there He will be. In fact, I believe even before we gathered, He has already been here waiting for us. For one thing, He is anticipating our praise of Him, our fellowshipping of Him and our calling upon His Name. In the presence of the Lord is overflowing joy. In the presence of the Lord, there is liberty. In the presence of the Lord, there is love in abundance, grace, mercy, forgiveness, understanding, hope, peace and blessing.

Last Sunday, a prophetic word came forth. Bishop Ricardo Alcaraz began to prophesy, which is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is. We are going to learn about the gifts as we go on because we are the Charismatic Church and we need to be very comfortable with the gifts of the Spirit.

“PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT”
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
We are on our fifth month of this teaching on prayer. Hopefully, we are closer to the understanding of prayer in our lives. Being here every Wednesday night is good, but being here and applying what you have learned is even better. This is what will bring us into an increasing and progressing life as a Christian. Only when we begin to do what we learn do we realize the fullness and the beauty of things that we are leaning. Continue to allow the spirit of God to help us bring understanding to this awesome, broad and ever so powerful message of the very life of God in us as we understand more and more of His ways.

“PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT”
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
More and more, I am beginning to realize what Jesus said in Mark 4 right after the Parable of the Sower and the Seed, “By the measure that you have, so shall it be measure to you.” In John1, God is willing to pour out His spirit without measure. He wants to just fill our lives with the fullness of His spirit. The reason why there are different manifestations or reactions of people during this time is because we come with different measures. As an example, when a mayor of a city announces that there will be free rice to be given and they are asked to bring their own containers, the amount of rice that will be given to them will depend upon the capacity of their containers.

“HUNGER AS WARFARE”
Fr. Gary Thurman
Last week we learned that God has enemies, and that we as Christians are involved in warfare against those enemies. We learned then that the Bible mentions the enemies of God about 40 times. Later I realized that it also mentions God’sadversaries quite often. I looked it up, and found over 25 references to them. So, between enemies and adversaries, they are mentioned almost 70 times in Scripture. As you can see, this is a real issue!
“THE RESULT OF HUNGER”
Fr. Gary Thurman
If there is one irrational fact in the universe around us, it is this: God has enemies. Think about it; how could a God of infinite kindness, love, power, wisdom, and mercy have a single enemy? What has He done, what could He do, to make somebody mad? To alienate anyone? This just makes no sense at all. And yet, it is an undeniable fact that God has enemies. The Bible mentions the fact about forty times. Forty times it specifically talks about God’s enemies. How could this be? Who could be against God?

"THE POWER OF HUNGER"
Fr. Gary W. Thurman
There is an amazing story in Exodus chapters 32 and 33. The people of Israel have just committed their great sin concerning the golden calf. The Lord informed Moses of their sin and then said, “I have seen this people, and behold, they are an obstinate people. Now then let me alone, that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them; and I will make of you a great people.” (Exodus 32: 9-10) God’s intention was clear: He was going to crush Israel, and start over with Moses. But the next verses are shocking: Moses intercedes, and the Lord relents. (Exodus 32: 11-14)

"THE VIRTUE OF HUNGER"
Fr. Gary W. Thurman
I am about to make a statement which you might not agree with at first. You might even think I am a false prophet! But I pray that we all allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us tonight, and stir up this truth within us. I am here to tell you tonight:Hunger is a virtue.

MIDWEEK FELLOWSHIP
Bishop Ariel Cornelio P. Santos
In Matthew 16, Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi and He asked His disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” The disciples said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others said, Elijah but still others said, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” But Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.”

“THE BURDEN OF PRAYER”
Fr. Gary Thurman
The word recently came down from the College of Archbishops of the CEC: It is time for every member of the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church to intensify prayer. That’s good - but do we know what that means? Does it mean to pray longer, or louder, or more often? We could do all those things without intensifying our prayers at all.

MIDWEEK FELLOWSHIP
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
I pray that we can continue to stand in faith that we can become submitted to the will of the Father – His will done in our lives to see what He desires for us accomplished. We are on our sixth night on the theme “Oremus” or “Let us pray”. It is a very important aspect of a Christian’s life because prayer is a relational communication with God. It is the means that God provided for us to communicate with Him so that His will, which is in the spiritual realm, will be seen in the physical realm. This is the partnership that He has called us. God can do all things, but in His love He chose you and me to partner with Him despite of our weakness, of our failures, He has chosen us to be a part of that glorious plan.

OREMUS - SESSION 6
Fr. Roberto M. Jorvina
In the time of death of King Uzziah, it was the time when the people of God were very insensitive to the things that were happening. God called the prophet Isaiah and He said, “Who can go before Me?” Isaiah said, “Here I am, send me, Lord, and I will go to the people who keep on hearing but do not hear; who keep on seeing, but do not see; and they have rendered their hearts insensitive.” This is so true today. Many people today are walking life, going through each day without a consciousness and attention made to the things that are happening in their homes, the things that are taking place in the lives of their family members, and the communication that is being brought out.

MIDWEEK FELLOWSHIP
BP. ARIEL SANTOS
One line from the “The Lord’s Prayer” that I would cite with regards to prayer is, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” “Thy kingdom come” doesn’t necessarily mean that it hasn’t come yet. It has come; and it is about the fullness of it being fulfilled and being ours through God’s will being done. Let Thy kingdom come in us; let Thy will be done in us. The Incarnation is the advent of the Kingdom coming. It is the answer to The Lord’s Prayer before the Lord’s Prayer was taught to us. The Incarnation was the advent of the new day of restoration and the coming of the Kingdom of God.

MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER JUDGEMENT
BISHOP RICARDO ALCARAZ
I remember someone asking, “Why is it that sometimes some people get a second chance and some people don’t?” I read a book about an evangelist who said that before he started ministering and took upon himself the mantel of an evangelist, he was running with the wrong crowd. One time, he was in a car and there was a transaction that went bad; and all of a sudden he saw a gun pointed at this head. Just before the gun was fired at him, he felt a hand push his head downward and the bullet hit the guy beside him and was killed. He believed that it was an angel of God that did it for him. Why did an angel intervene in his life and the other guy died? I said, “God is Sovereign. He can do whatever He wants.” Have you ever felt that somehow that you gave an answer that sounded quite right but inside you felt that something was lacking?

OREMUS - SESSION 5
Fr. Roberto M. Jorvina
We are to have an understanding that we are not alone; we are God’s. Christ promised this and He guaranteed it with His own life, His precious blood, His death on the cross. God gave His best – not just an angel or an archangel. He did not just give a heavenly being. He gave His only Son. I pray that our eyes will be open to see this and that it will reveal to us the reality of His presence in our lives.

OREMUS - SESSION 4
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
Understand the works and the ways of God because it is so powerful and very important that we grow in our Christian life.Oremus (let us pray) is the call that we want to be instilled in our hearts. I hope that there is an impact that is happening in our lives that we are challenged to pray, to get down on our knees, to pray before the Father and to make Him understand and see how much we depend upon Him and call upon Him. He is the God that is truly more than enough. Our help is in the Name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

OREMUS - SESSION 3
Fr. Roberto Jorvina
God is good all the time! It is truly a blessing that we gather again tonight. Every moment of our lives is a blessing. Now that we are on a third week of this series, hopefully, we are constantly challenged to grow. God’s desire and heart is to see His children grow into the full measure and stature of Jesus Christ. Every moment of our lives; every little step that we take in progression toward the greater things of God; everything that we say; every little levelling up of our lives; things that we have not done before that we can start doing now; and we say, “Lord, I am committed and I am persuaded to believe I am destined to grow, to develop in my life.”

OREMUS - SESSION 2
Fr. Roberto M. Jorvina
Continuing with our series “OREMUS” which is a Latin word for “Let us pray,” we look at the importance of levelling up in our Christian life. It is vital that we grow in our spiritual life and begin to be prolific in everything we do. We cannot say we are Christians and still be the same people that we were many years ago. It is expedient; it is necessary; it is a part of our life in Christianity as people who have been planted with a seed. 1Peter1 calls it as an incorruptible seed. It is a seed that does not perish. It is a seed that does not become stale. The seed is destined to grow. This seed is in you and me. We were born-again with this seed and if we are to really flow and allow God to work in our lives, this seed will grow and should grow.

OREMUS - SESSION 1
Fr. Roberto M. Jorvina
It is always a joy that God’s people gather together. As we continue with our Season of Epiphany, the Season where we are to manifest and reveal Christ to the world, we are starting a series entitled “Oremus.” Oremus is a Latin word which calls people to pray. Oremus means “Let us pray.”

"THE KINGDOM OF GOD"
Dcn. Garry Salguero
The Feast of Epiphany marks the conclusion of Christmas Season. We stop singing Christmas songs, for some if not most of us, we put down Christmas decorations, we put down Christmas lights, we dismantle our Christmas trees, but I believe that Christmas is not over. We continue to celebrate the coming of the Savior, for the redemption of the whole world.
